Our Dreams and … Self-Sabotage

If you are like how I used to be then you will most recognize the following: I used to make little progress toward my goals and objectives, only to backslide again into old, non-serving behaviors.. In the past I would always procrastinate in taking the next step. Sometimes I would even become physically ill just to sabotage my work that needed to be done in order to fulfill my dream of becoming a healer.

How about you? Are you perplexed by how often you get off track and then asking yourself, totally exhausted and confused, why do I let this happen?

If you are not moving steadily in the direction of what you say you want, you can be certain that you are sabotaging yourself somewhere.

Whatever form it takes – whether unhealthy behaviors or limiting thought patterns – self-sabotage always diminishes the passion and energy we need in order to fulfill our dreams. Self-sabotage is the outer manifestation of our inner feelings of shame, guilt, anger and unworthiness. Honestly, we only create as much love, fulfillment, success and joy as we feel worthy of having, as we allow our self to have and feel.

To make radical positive change toward that which you want, your goal, it is essential to identify how your inner critic is sabotaging your life. Choose one area where you can see that you’re sabotaging yourself: for example your finances, or maybe it’s in the area of your health or relationships.

Ask yourself, “What do I get out of not thriving in this area?” (There is always a positive within the negative, something that we are getting out of it). Motivated by negative beliefs about yourself, you may discover that you don’t expect to succeed in this area. So in the end, you get to be right about yourself! And most of us will do anything to prove that we are right–even if it means not full filling our biggest dreams.

However, today you can decide to take the first step towards reaching your goals!

Start to free yourself from self sabotage one on one with Diana here by booking your first coaching session.

More About Foot Reflexology

I believe that foot reflexology enhances and accelerates the body’s ability to heal itself. Did you know there are more than 7,000 nerve endings at the bottom of each of your foot and by pressing these nerve endings we can actually stimulate or calm down the glands, organs and systems connected to each nerve ending.

Foot reflexology is an alternative therapy often used in conjunction with traditional medicine. It is not only great for stress and anxiety, but research shows for example that it can help with pain and soreness caused by arthritis. It can have a positive effect on diabetes  and it can have a positive effect on the quality of life for cancer patients.

When coming for a session you will find yourself in a spa-setting, with soft music and a relaxing atmosphere. The treatment may feel like a foot massage, but there is a therapeutic value to this treatment that is related to acupuncture.

Clients come to see me with different ailments and issues. I see children who are diagnosed with ADHD/ADD, since reflexology balances the nerve system, the brain function, the hormonal function and is extremely grounding. Some clients suffer from insomnia. Same here; the nerve system calms down, the cortisol and adrenal hormone secretion balances, and the mind quiets down. Foot reflexology helps with calming down the symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.

Can tension in the body simply be a sign of unhappiness?

The body is our most sacred messenger tool. I think that missing its ‘please-help-me’ sign or simply ignoring them is the biggest mistake we can make. We can ponder about what we all truly want in life. What it comes down to is simply being happy. Happiness is what we all want.

Our environment may teach us different ways of retrieving this happiness. Funny enough, in western society we believe that happiness is a goal. Perhaps a goal we need to work hard for, something we have to achieve. In ancient teachings we learn that happiness can only be in the moment. It is not a goal we have to work hard for. It simply is in the moment. As babies we live in the moment. We do not live in the future or past. A baby simply ‘is’. When it is hungry it cries, when it needs milk it cries, when it needs nurturing it cries, when it needs a diaper change it cries. The baby’s body communicates its message to the parents.

When we grow up we often learn to suppress to communicate what we truly need. Not a lot of people will say out loud that they need nurturing. Instead we learn to negotiate, and often even how to manipulate to get what we want. We forget that what we truly want is satisfaction of our simple needs: Safety, love; nurturing on all our levels. We get distracted by our own loopholes.

Simply satisfying our needs can only occur when we go back to what the body is telling us. When our body feels tensed and stressed it means something is not in balance in our life. When we keep ignoring our body we can become ill. The only way to resolve is to learn to be in the moment and connect with the body. What are we feeling, where is this pain or tension and what can we learn from this, what is behind it? Are we not feeling loved? Are we not feeling safe? What do I need in this moment to feel better, what does my body want?

By simply communicating with our body and acknowledging its pain and stress we start to heal. Our body is simply telling us that we are not happy; our life’s purpose is not being fulfilled. How can we change this? Only you know. You only know the truth and no one else! In a counselling- and/or energy session we can start to work on revealing what maybe bothering you.

Step by step you can uncover why you are not happy and how to change this! Your ego may kick into fear though; it may attempt to prevent you from finding answers within. Simply trust your inner wisdom, simply silence your mind. Or is this not so simple? We may have created limiting patterns that we believe are keeping us safe. We may have created these patterns or beliefs when we were children. At that time these were probably keeping us safe but now they can prevent us from growth. Instead we are blocking ourselves and this is keeping us from our highest potential.

Now we have entered the important topic of our subconscious mind, which is acting like an old fashioned tape recorder since it has no mind of its own. The patterns recorded there can for example stop us from reaching our ultimate awareness of being happy in the moment. We may find ourselves in an endless circle of confusion: Perhaps we think we are not safe when we are happy, so we focus on our unhappiness in order to feel safe. Perhaps we may think we are not worthy of being happy, thus we create the pattern of not being deserving of being happy.

In order to be in the moment and truly enjoy happiness we will first have to change our mindset

The Many Health Benefits of Kumbucha Tea

After having to take anti biotics to destroy the bacteria that were infecting my urinary tract I decided to focus on making Kombucha in order to replenish my intestinal flora and strengthen my apparently failing immune system.
Kombucha is a, in my opinion tasty but others may disagree with me, refreshing fermented beverage. It originated from North East China where the Chinese people have been enjoying their sparkling Kombucha Tea since centuries. In China it is well known for its medicinal benefits and many call it therefor ‘Immortal Health Elixir’.

In order to make Kombucha we use sweetened green, white or black tea, preferably organic. Then we need a ‘Scoby’, this is a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast that transform sweet tea into this tangy, fizzy Kombucha. Personally I think a Scoby does not look that appealing at all, but when I think of the many health benefits and the tasty beverage I will obtain after the process I get myself over the yukky feeling. And since I believe that all living creatures, even the tiniest ones respond to positive and negative vibes, I talk friendly to my Scoby and even gave it a name!

Health benefits of Kombucha, besides improving the immune system, are ranging from facilitating detoxification, lowering cholesterol, reducing arthritis pain, restoring bowel movements, relief from various digestive troubles and gastric ulcers.

Some even claim that the anti-oxidant rich Kombucha possess anti-microbial properties that assist in curing various medical conditions such as cancer and diabetes. All I have experienced so far is that the pro-biotic supplements I used to take helped me with preventing catching colds, flues and infections. I believe that I got sick with the UTI because I had not taken my pro-biotics lately!

Many of my friends who have been drinking Kombucha advised me to start with brewing my own Kumbucha tea instead of buying the expensive pro- biotic supplements every time. One of my sweet friends gave me a Kombucha starter set, since her own Kumbucha is helping her with staying healthy and she wanted me to never get this sick again also.

Hopefully I will be able to pay it forward soon by sharing Scoby babies with others and perhaps even organize a Kombucha workshop in the near future.
